Ellis Tech Car Show to Support Senior Headed to National Masonry Competition

Ellis Tech senior Matthew Boots will represent Connecticut at the SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, after earning first place in masonry at the Connecticut State Skills Conference. To help cover his travel expenses, Ellis Tech’s SkillsUSA chapter is hosting a car show fundraiser on Friday, May 15, from 4–7 p.m. in the school’s south parking lot. The event is open to the public and will include cars of all makes, models, and years, along with food trucks and music from DJ Mega Mix. Boots, who will begin a masonry apprenticeship after graduation, will compete against top students from across the country in both a written exam and a six-hour masonry build.
